We know
of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system
over the Internet. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the
software when the order is placed. They are only decrypted after they
reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
Rosemary's
Health Foods web site uses Standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to
control access to a secure server.
When
customers are viewing pages or submitting data over an SSL connection
(shown by the golden padlock or key appearing at the bottom of the
browser window), nobody else on the Internet will be able to read what
they are typing in. This prevents the interception of credit card
numbers as they are entered.*
The
orders are encrypted using 1024-bit encryption and stored behind the
wall of SSL. The orders are not un-encrypted until we open them via the
Actinic software on our computer.
*For
increased
security, we are now asking for the additional security number on the
signature strip of your credit card.
